Do you live off-campus on College Avenue and find it challenging to commute from your home to campus in the mornings and at night? The Brunsquick shuttle bus service is a service that uses small buses for public mobility. It is used for shorter trips in the New Brunswick downtown and off- campus area.
Unlike your regular Rutgers buses, that get on and get off at particular stops, passengers can get on or off the shuttle anywhere along the portion of the route between the College Avenue Student Center up until the school of Nursing. However, the shuttle is not permitted to let people on or off the bus in the middle of the city street at any time. Pickups and dropoffs must be done at a corner or intersection. Please flag down the shuttle as it approaches. When boarding the shuttle, inform the driver of your destination or signal your desired stop using the “STOP REQUEST” buttons when approaching your desired stop.
The shuttles run all day from 7AM to 2AM but the stops are limited at certain times of the day. The main stops for this bus are the College Avenue Student Center, Scott Hall, the train station, Zimmerli Art Museum, College of Nursing, Student Activities Center. There is a map provided at the bottom of this article!
The Brunsquick shuttle services are especially useful to Rutgers students who live off-campus on College Avenue. The shuttles route runs through Louis street, Somerset street, Courtyard street, French street and Patterson street. Off-campus houses are located on or off these streets and will make the commute on hot, cold and regular days much easier.
The shuttle also serves a great purpose to Students at the Rutgers College of Nursing because the shuttle goes directly there and has a stop right by the college of nursing.
The shuttle route also drives by the super fresh grocery store and passengers can get off by the traffic light besides the grocery store. It is also an alternative to getting to the train station and George street. You will have to signal to the bus driver to get off and on at this stop.
